The Electrical Testing Laboratory undertakes following Electrical Testing Jobs:
1. Type testing of different types of Power System Protection Relays as per IS & IEC specifications.
2. Type Testing of Analog Electrical indicating instruments as per IS 1248 - 1993
3. Type Testing of Energy Meters as per IS 13010
4. Type Testing of Static Energy Meters as per IS 13779
5. Type Testing of Transducers as per IS 12784
6. Noise Rejection Ratio Test on Signaling Cables as per IEEE Specifications
7. IP Protection Test on Motors, Panels, Marshalling Boxes, Terminal Boxes, Luminaries, Oil Level Indicators, Enclosures as per IS & IEC Specifications.
8. Properties ascertaining tests like Resistance to Heat, Fire, Tracking & Mechanical Strength tests on various Electrical accessories.
9. Product Evaluation tests on Emergency lights.
10. Performance Test on Electronic Ballast and Operating Characteristics on Reference Ballasts for FTL, HPMV & HPSV Ballast as per IS / IEC Specifications.
11. Testing of Instrument Transformers for ratio error & phase angle error.

CT / PT TEST SYSTEM
Instrument Transformers play a vital role in several Power Line Parameters like Voltage, Current, Power and Energy. Since Power and Energy constitute a direct revenue commodity, it is very important to have a precise and accurate Instrument Transformer to monitor / register the above parameters.
Electrical Testing Laboratory is equipped with CT / PT Testing System with a state-of-art Technology for analyzing the Ratio error and Phase angle error as per IS 4201, IS 2705 and IS 3156, IEC 185 & 186. Above System is Traceable to NPL, New Delhi.
